'Sustainability' now has its own place at the Agra fair in Leipzig

The biennial Agra, one of the largest regional agricultural fairs in Germany, will be held in Leipzig in the coming days (April 11 - 14). Every two years, the Agra fair is the most important platform for agriculture and forestry in eastern and central Germany.

More than a thousand exhibitors, brands, associations, clubs and organizations present themselves on an area of more than 80,000 square meters. The latest agricultural and forestry technology is exhibited there, both inside and outside the exhibition halls.

With eight different subject areas, Agra-2024 also includes an extensive Livestock Farming and Livestock Farming cluster with an overview of the latest technical developments, scientific findings and the latest products.

The agricultural exhibition also shows methods, techniques and future trends of modern forestry. This year the focus is on integrated and sustainable forest management.

With the agra Eco topic forum, the topic 'Sustainability' is given its own, interdisciplinary platform for the first time. The new cluster combines current developments, innovative exhibitors and creative ideas regarding sustainable agriculture.

The traditional 'peasants' breakfast' about German and European agricultural policy has also been a tradition at this fair for years. Organized by the three Central German farmers' associations, the chairmen and directors of all East German farmers' associations meet guests. This year the question is how consumers today think about the future of agriculture, its products and modern food.

A panel discussion of German prominent figures will be devoted to the topic “Who will pay for the future of agriculture?”
