MHP’s export revenues accounted for 60 percent of total turnover in 2023.
In 2023, MHP exported nearly 397,000 tons of chicken meat, an 8 percent increase. Domestic production of poultry meat in Ukraine amounted to approximately 718,600 tons. Additionally, the production of MHP’s subsidiary in the Balkans rose by 6 percent to over 131,000 tons.
Besides poultry production, MHP also achieved significant revenues in the agricultural sector. In 2023, the company harvested nearly 3.56 million tons of crops, including corn, wheat, sunflowers, rapeseed, and soybeans. Production of sunflower oil and soybean oil increased by 71 percent and 24 percent respectively, resulting in a 31 percent rise in turnover in this sector.
The MHP holding has locations in the Netherlands, Slovakia, and also in Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. Most exports go through their locations in the Netherlands or Slovakia.
MHP owns 400,000 hectares of land and covers the entire chain from cultivation and production of feed, hatching eggs, livestock and poultry farming to the processing and sale of end products.
The group has grown significantly in recent years after the European Union temporarily lifted import tariffs and quotas on many Ukrainian agricultural products in 2022. However, a 'emergency brake' has recently been introduced in case export volumes rise drastically, partly due to complaints from French and Dutch poultry traders.
Moreover, the group has made a new acquisition, this time in Albania. MHP has acquired the Albanian poultry company ARB Bio Farm for 14 million euros. This strategic acquisition aims to expand export capacities to the Balkan region and the European Union.
